Saturn's Strange Hexagon...

Saturn's jet stream blows in a strange hexagonal pattern, captured here by Cassini. The hexagon is basically a long-lived weather phenomenon ringing the planet's north pole. Read more here.

ClimateGate: the Hamster Effect...

David Solway is relishing the moment.

Awesome Rant...

The best rant I've seen in a long, long time.  A small sample:
And what meaning do you expect your delusionally self-important statements of unknowing, inexperienced opinion to have with us?  What fantasy do you hold that you would believe that your tiny-fisted tantrums would have more weight than that of a leprous desert rat, spinning rabidly in a circle, waiting for the bite of the snake?
Go read the whole thing.  But put down your morning beverage first...

ClimateGate: In the Mainstream Media...

The WSJ takes a very level-headed look at ClimateGate's impact on Copenhagen.  Steve McIntyre is presented in a way that I believe he himself would approve of...

AGW Skeptics...

What are they all about?  This is a great short course on AGW skepticism...

Current Solar Activity and the Climate...

A great short article at Watts Up With That?

ClimateGate: So Easy a Sixth Grader Can Do It!

This is a very clear demonstration of one of the fundamental issues that the AGW skeptics have long had with the supporting data: the temperature data appears to be “contaminated” with urban heat island effect.  Watch this kid (and his dad) demonstrate it, using the GISS' own data:

Sarah Palin on Copenhagen...

A politician talking something that sounds like sense to my ears:
But while we recognize the occurrence of these natural, cyclical environmental trends, we can’t say with assurance that man’s activities cause weather changes. We can say, however, that any potential benefits of proposed emissions reduction policies are far outweighed by their economic costs. And those costs are real.
How refreshing!

From Sarah Palin's Facebook...

Congress Focuses on the Important Things...

I'm pretty sure the average American thinks that there are some fairly important issues before Congress.  I'd kinda like to think that our congresscritters were working on these issues.

Then my common sense kicks in, and I realize that most likely they are beclowning themselves somehow.

Good grief!

ClimateGate: the Sounds of a Monolithic Front Breaking Up...

Maclean's is a Canadian magazine and web presence, a little hard to characterize but their politics are not the usual unrelieved liberality we associate with Canada.  They are running a reader survey that asks: “Is Canada shirking its international obligations when it comes to climate change?”

The results as of this writing are shown at right (click on the image to enlarge).  See the current results yourself here.
