It's raining in Paradise...

It's raining in Paradise...  A few minutes ago the heavens opened up and it began to pour.  The sound on our steel roof is lovely.  Temperatures have been unseasonably warm, startling all the long-time residents here – and forecast calls for much more of this:

We have quite a few deciduous trees on our place that have come into bud already, fooled by the warm weather.  If we have a hard frost (and that's almost a certainty), some of them are going to be suffering badly...

The biggest science scandal evah!

The biggest science scandal evah!  So declares the London Telegraph.  What are the talking about?  The “fiddled” historical temperature data that underlies the basic claims of the warmists.

I'm not sure how one goes about measuring the “bigness” of a science scandal.  If the measure is by how much impact a particular scandal had on the world, I think my vote would go to Rachel Carson's DDT distortions (in which she grotesquely overstated the dangers of DDT, and completely ignored the benefits to both wildlife and mankind), which at this point has cost millions of lives and continues nearly unabated.  Nevertheless, the perversion of science by the warmist climatologists is awful by any measure – and the necessary accounting still hasn't even started...

AN-225...

AN-225 ... the largest aircraft in the world.  No, it's not Texan – it's Russian (the “AN” is for “Antonov”).  I've only seen a few photos of it (there's only the one), but here's a huge collection of great photos...
