JAC

The webmaster for the JAC (Jamulians Against the Casino) web site contacted me today to let me know that their web site, while still under construction, is up and running. There’s useful information up there, especially (at the moment) with regard to the history of the Jamul Indian Village and their efforts to build a casino here.

Go take a look!

I have a feeling that it will never successfully be built and/or operated. There is so much opposition that it may be difficult to obtain materials, construction workers, etc. Construction may be disrupted for a variety of reasons. Those that do work on the project may be harassed. Although the tribe may have the legal right to construct the casino (yet to be determined) I imagine you can’t force something like this on an entire town without severe repercussions. If it opens, patrons may become targets of the angry. Lots of ugliness may ensure with nothing positive gained by the tribe
