Ted Kennedy's Brain Tumor...

Presumably you've heard the news that Senator Ted Kennedy has a malignent brain tumor. The press is full of speculation about his prognosis, but all they really seem to know is that the overall prognosis for such a tumor is bad; few people survive five years. On the other hand, Kennedy is 76, so even without the tumor his life expectancy isn't all that high.

Ordinarily my first reaction would be one of sympathy, both for the victim of the cancer and for his family. But for the vile Ted Kennedy – the man who was so willing to let a young woman die while he saved himself, the vile politician so full of bombast and lies that it's impossible to believe he's sincere – it is somehow much more difficult to raise a full portion of sympathy...

Updated: here's someone having much more trouble than I raising some sympathy for Kennedy...

  1. Very good post. I'm from Martha's Vineyard, and many of us feel that Ted Kennedy's still got to answer for Mary Jo Kopechne's death.

  2. Ahh your blatant partisan-ism is back. I've missed it with all these thinly veiled partisan posts recently.
