Another Border Patrol Chase...

Nobody was killed, this time. The photo at right is a Google Earth view of the vicinity, with my best guess about where the crash occurred circled in orange. This Union-Tribune story is so short that any conceivable excerpt would include it all, so here it is:

Jamul pursuit ends in crash

Six people in a Honda Civic crashed on Lyons Valley Road in Jamul tonight after being pursued by the Border Patrol, the California Highway Patrol said.

Undercover Border Patrol agents tried to pull over the driver, who then led them on a five-mile pursuit. The Honda went off the road and struck a rock about 10 p.m.

The CHP said two people in the Honda suffered moderate injuries and two ran away. Eastbound lanes of Lyons Valley Road were blocked at Chaparral Heights during an investigation.

That's all I've been able to find out about it. If any local residents know any more, please let us know in the comments.
