This was the view looking west from Lyons Peak just a few minutes ago. Serene, beautiful, peaceful...And not necessarily expected. Up until a few hours ago, the national weather service was forecasting a mild Santa Ana for today and early tomorrow – enough to cause the Governator to order a full alert for all the fire-fighting services, and to pre-position equipment in San Diego County (and in other Southern California areas).
But in the end, we got no winds today. It was dry, warm, and calm – a very pleasant day, actually.
This is one time when I'm quite happy that the weatherman got it wrong!
Hopefully the weather man will be wrong and you will get some rain and cooler weather. Our hearts and prayers are with you. From Canada to our friends in the U.S.A. ernie.

ReplyDeleteInteresting story in the Columbian - a Clark County, WA newspaper. As a future Clark County resident (Q2 of 2010) and a current Jamulian, I have ties to both sides of the story. My wife and I saw this convoy of equipment on Campo on their way out to go home late last week. We planned on flying up to WA first week in December anyway for a vacation. We now plan on visiting each of the stations that contributed to the strike team and thanking them personnally.
